Raven Ancar, known professionally as Ray$av, is a multi-talented rapper, dynamic performer, producer, and the visionary CEO of Short For $avage Records and Label Services. A proud New Orleans native, Raven graduated with honors from Tulane University, where she earned a B.A. in Africana Studies and Sociology. She further honed her expertise with a certification in Music Business and Industries from New York University. Raven is an esteemed member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Omicron Delta Kappa Fraternity Inc., and the Grammy Recording Academy’s Class of 2024.
With a strong foundation in Label Services and Music Business practices, Raven has set her sights on law school in 2025, aiming to specialize in copyright and entertainment law. Her debut project, “Short For $avage,” released in 2023, showcased her dual talents as a writer and producer. The project’s tracks and music videos have amassed nearly half a million plays on TikTok, gained attention on YouTube, and been featured on major stations like Q93. The success of her debut also led to significant media coverage, with numerous press features and magazine articles highlighting her work and impact on the industry. Raven’s impact extends beyond music; she is a passionate advocate for Black women in the industry, dedicated to ensuring they are financially empowered and legally informed about their rights—a mission central to her label’s ethos.
