NOLA MusiCon / October 28-30
New Orleans
Don B.
Self taught producer and engineer, Don Bartholomew, aka Don B., is the son of the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Lifetime Grammy Achievement Award, Songwriter Hall of Famer, Blues Hall of Famer and pioneer of rhythm and blues, Dave Bartholomew. Following in his father’s footsteps, Don started playing drums and reading music in the 3rd grade. Obsessed with Hip Hop and heavily influenced by R&B pop music, Don put together his first group, Friends 9, with three friends and his brother Ron in high school.
After achieving local success with Friends 9, Don pivoted to music production and caught the attention of New Orleans pioneers of rap, including Mia X, Soulja Slim and Lil Wayne, to name a few. Don’s studio, Hitts Studio, was the spot for all of the local rap and R&B artists and labels like Cash Money and No Limit Records to record.
Don continues to inspire and motivate those he collaborates with, empowering artists and producers to reach their full potential. As CEO of BangnWorld, he oversees Bangn Recordings and Bartholomew Boyz productions, a joint venture with his producer sons, Supa Dezzy and Trakkabeats. Let’s keep Bangn.
