Originally from Southern California, Jeremy Kelley played saxophone in his high school jazz and marching band. He continued to hone his craft while attending CSUN and Santa Barbara City College. Preferring to learn from the amazing world of music professionals playing around him, Jeremy left school to play in the infamous LA club scene. The Troubadour, Viper Room, Hotel Café, Casey’s, The Jazz Bakery and The Roxy were among the regular haunts, and he soon began to tour nationally.
In addition to the saxophone, he became proficient on bass, guitar and accordion, playing on records of all genres. After what seemed like a lifetime of playing music in the Los Angeles area, he moved to New Orleans in 2009, and quickly fell in love with the New Orleans jazz, funk, brass band and street music that pulses through the community. According to Jeremy, “Music is the heartbeat of New Orleans and if you are humble and want to learn, she will teach you!”
Today, in addition to playing as a hired side man, his main creative focus is Bon Bon Vivant, an original New Orleans indie rock project that he started with singer/songwriter Abigail Cosio. Bon Bon Vivant started busking on Royal Street and now tours nationally.
