Qween Qweezy

New Orleans, Louisiana, is the hometown of American rapper, singer-songwriter, and entrepreneur Qween Qweezy. Her mother was the First Lady signed to Cash Money Records in the 1990s which served as a catalyst to her interest in music. During her time at college, Qween Qweezy was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease, before recording her debut song. Despite this obstacle, she developed a holistic viewpoint on life, which was simply to keep going. Her first public appearance was on YouTube, where she created Qween Qweezy Mixes with popular instrumental songs, which greatly increased her profile. Through consistency she was able to create a dignified music catalog that emulates her sassy bars, heavy bass frequencies, and tendency to rattle and shake. In addition, she has been able to collaborate with fellow notable artists from New Orleans like Flag Boy Giz, Fiend, and Dino BTW. Through my music, I hope to uplift young girls from comparable backgrounds to mine—a single mother raising me in a highly impoverished neighborhood like Nola—and demonstrate to them that they, too, can reach their dreams and succeed to the fullest extent possible. Women empowerment serves as a bridge to bring together like-minded individuals who are eager to collaborate, alter the music industry, and forge our own path.
